Located NE of Sadler, Texas and also NE of Basin Springs. Going north from Sadler on 901, turn right (east) on Arkansas Road. Keeping east as the road changes to Dickey road, after it crosses over old Southmayd Rd. Continue across cattle guard onto rock road. When the road turns left (north), park your car. Walk through the woods, due east and you will eventually come upon the cemetery, although it is quite a long hike. According to the 1908 plat map, Independence School, or Arkansas School as it was referred to, was located about half way between where you parked your car and where you crossed the cattle guard. It was on the N side of the Road.

This cemetery is in horrible shape and is well off the beaten path. There is evidence that it is a large cemetery with many unmarked graves.
