The Grayson County Poor Farm
Adopt a Pauper!

In the fire of 1946, the big book which contained all the records of the county farm was destroyed.

We can never replace what valuable information was contained in this book, however we can try our best to compile as much information as possible.

A new file system has been created and a seperate file has been created for all of the known residents. Names were received from one of the 5 available census records, death records or actual personal accounts.

Although we have some names, little is actually known about many of these individuals, but you can help!
By adopting a Pauper you will receive their personal file and it will be up to you to conduct research on this individual. Once you have completed your research, simply send the file back to be included in the new record book for the Grayson County Farm.

Research for Paupers can be as extensive as you would like it to be and can also include biographies, photos and other various facts about this person's extended family. You may also adopt as many paupers as you would like. Currently we have more than 100 pauper files with little to no information. Below is a list of Paupers who are available for adoption. Simply choose a pauper(s) you would like to adopt and submit a request to receive their file. If you would like for a pauper to be radomly selected for you, simply leave the Pauper's name blank and we will select one on your behalf.

Note: a seperate form must be submitted for each Pauper that you would like to adopt.
