HOWE HAPPENINGS
Death of an Old Citizen
Howe, Tex., Oct 16 - Jacob Gum, one of the Grayson County's earliest settlers, died at his residence, about two miles from this place this evening at 6:15. Mr. Gum was sheriff of this county for a term of years and has been a leading politician for some time. He stumped the county several times in favor of Greenbackism. He leaves a large family of children to mourn his death.
