William J. Roberts
1928 MORTUARY
HOWE -- After his wife and a neighbor's son had given him blood
in an effort to save his life, Will J. Roberts, 43, business man here for
many years, died in Sherman at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon following an
operation. The neighbor's son is James McCoy, 20.
Funeral services were held from the residence here at 2 o'clock
Saturday afternoon. Services were conducted by the Rev. William Vivrette,
pastor of the First Christian church of Denton, assisted by the Rev. F.
D. Young, pastor of the Christian Church here, and the Rev. R. G. Percival,
Methodist pastor here. Interment was in the Akers cemetery.
Mr. Roberts was born in Howe, July 16 1879, and was married to Miss
Lela Rankins here Dec. 10, 1902. He is survived by his widow and six children,
and his mother, Mrs. Martha Sue Roberts. Other surviving relations are
his brothers, James T. Roberts, Wolfe City, Edgar Roberts, Honey Grove,
and three sisters, Mrs. _______, Denison, Mrs. W. W. Collins, Howe, and
Miss Mame Roberts, Howe.
Active pall bearer, all brothers-in-law of the deceased were (illegible).
Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Blackburn Undertaking
company.
