Charles went to be with his Lord, Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at the age of 70 years. 

Charles was born on Feb. 5, 1939 in Sherman to Grant Leo Franks and Elizabeth King Franks. 
He married Patsy Franklin on Jan. 19, 1957. 
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patsy Franklin Franks of Sherman; son, Charles Ray Franks and wife Cathie of Howe; daughters, Debbie Polonchak of Howe, and Cheryl Keeling and James Calhoun of Sherman; sister, Kim Johnson of Denison. He is also survived by grandchildren, Racheal Sedmack and husband Joey of Howe, Charles William Franks and Jessica Keirns of Sherman, Michael Polonchak of Denison, Travis Keeling of Denison, Jesse Franks and Alex Smith of Howe, Jesseca Franks of Howe, Matty Polonchak of Howe, Brock Taylor of Denison, Chris Griffin of Howe and Alyssa Hutson of Little Elm; great-grandchildren, Ayla Pierson Franks, Michael Taylor Franks, Heath Ryan Franks all of Howe, and Chase Alexander Tomlinson of Denison, and several nieces and nephews. 
Mr. Franks was a retired over-the-road truck driver having worked for several local companies.
He was an avid hunter and took several hunting trips over the years with his son and grandsons. He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed camping with his wife, family and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patsy Ferguson, Gloria Cook, Kathy Watson and brother Harlan Franks. 
Family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Monday, Oct., 19 at Waldo Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Southside Baptist Church in Denison. Burial will follow at the Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Keith Taylor will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. 
Pallbearers will be Jamie Ferguson, B.J. Watson, Cody Johnson, Rick Higginbotham, Scott Renfro, David Renfro, Jason Tomlinson and Kelly Gann. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Frank's grandsons and his dear lifelong friends, Jerry Renfro and Joe Williamson.
