Jimmy Pat "J.P." Hamm, 72, left this earth on Feb. 4, 2010,
surrounded by his loving family, following a long battle with cancer. Dannel
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. on Mon., Feb. 8, at Luella First Baptist Church, with Bro. Harvey
Patterson and Jeremy Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn
Memorial Park. Family visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 7, 7-9 p.m. at the
funeral home.
J.P. was born on June 5, 1937, to Pat and Emmalee Peek Hamm. He
was educated in the public schools and graduated from Clarksville High
School in 1956. On Feb. 14, 1960, he married Ola Fern Jacks. They had enjoyed
almost 50 years of marriage. He had retired from MEMC as a machinist and
was currently employed as a courier by Clinical Pathology Labs.
J.P. was an active member of the Grayson County Sheriff's Posse
in the 1970s. He was active in his church and enjoyed fishing with his
sons and friends. He also liked to spend time with his family watching
western movies.
Preceding J.P. in death were his parents and one sister. He is survived
by his wife Fern; sons: David Hamm and wife Debra of Tom Bean, Steve Hamm
and wife Christina of Whitesboro, and Brian Hamm and wife Shonna of Ft.
Benning, Ga.; grandson Ryan Hamm and wife Roni of Whitewright; granddaughters
Ashley Ruley and husband Stephen of Sherman, Sandy Hamm of Kemp, Tiffany
Hamm of Spokane, Wash., Baley Hamm of Sherman, Haley Hamm of Ft. Benning,
Ga., and Chelsea Shurbet of Whitesboro; four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter,
several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Pallbearers will be James Harris, Adam Guerrero, Ritchie Hilliard,
Truman Carpenter, Ryan Hamm, and Robert Allen.

2306, Sherman, TX 75091-2306.
