AUBURN, Neb. - Funeral services for Betty Ruth Smith will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Waldo Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Venable officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Smith, formerly of Sherman, passed away at her home Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 in Auburn, Neb. at the age of 80. 
Betty was born on March 19, 1929 in Sherman to the late Lester and Thelma (Bowman) Campbell. Betty attended Grayson County College, receiving her nursing degree in 1972. She later received a BS in healthcare administration from East Texas State University in 1979. She was employed many years at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center and Medical Plaza Hospital.
Mrs. Smith is survived by sons, Darrell, Joseph, Lee, Jon, and Chad, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Smith. 
The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Thursday at Waldo Funeral Home.
