"Juanita" Austin, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb.
10, 2010 at Victoria Gardens of Frisco.
Mrs. Austin was born Dec. 19, 1923 in San Antonio, the daughter of
Jack and Emma Elizabeth (Lucas) Sanders. Juanita married Claude Dean Matlock
on Dec. 29, 1945. He preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1968. Juanita loved
to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed quilting and made
many beautiful quilts over the years. Juanita married Winnie Doyle Austin
on March 11, 1970. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1996. She was a loving
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Juanita will be greatly missed
by her family and friends.
Mrs. Austin is survived by her loving family, daughter, Joyce Cole
and husband Jim of Richardson, and son, Edward "Ed" Matlock and wife Karen
of Sadler; stepdaughter, Brenda Joplin and husband J.B. of Quitman; 12
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; dear
friends, Robin and Van Headrick and their three daughters of Gainesville.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, stepdaughter,
Ann Willis and stepson, Doyle Austin.
Graveside services will be held at noon Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 in the
Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. There is no set
time for family visitation.
Pallbearers will be Scott Monroe, Chris Matlock, Ty Russell, Steve
Palmore, Eddie Jim Cole, Ed Matlock and Jim Cole.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison.
