Mrs. Faye Scoggin
Collinsville - Services will be a 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ethel
Church of Christ for Mrs. Faye Scoggin, 55, who died Friday morning in
a Sherman hospital after a long illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1913, in Collinsville, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. W.L. Rice, and married Joe Socggin April 1, 1933 at Mariette, Okla.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and a beautician for many
years in Whitesboro and Collinsville.
George Henry Stephenson of Tyler will officiate with burial in Collinsville
Cemetery. Richards Funeral Home will be in charge.
Survivors are her husband and her mother, both of Collinsville;
two daughters, Mrs. James Roberts of Fort Worth and Mrs. Ted Harshbarger
of Monument, N.M.,; one brother, William J. Rice of Sherman; five sisters,
Mrs. R.M. Marlock, Mrs. Charles Light and Mrs. J.R. Russell, all of Collinsville;
Mrs. Bas Gaddie and Mrs. Don Sheperd, both of Yreka, Calif.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 until 9
p.m.
John D. Scoggin Dies; Services Set Friday
Collinsville - John Doyle Scoggin, 77 of Collinsville died Wednesday
at 4:15 a.m. in the home of his daughter after a short illness. Services
for Mr. Scoggin have been set for Friday at 2 p.m. in the Richards-Beck
Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Collinsville Cemetery under
the direction of Richards-Beck Funeral Home.
Mr. Scoggin was born Oct. 30, 1888 in Georgia. He was the
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Scoggin. He married Miss Myrtle
L. Hart in November, 1908. They were married in Collinsville.
She preceded her husband in death in June of last year. He was a
member of the Ethel Church of Christ.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Lucille McWhorter of Collinsville;
one brother, A.L. Scoggin of Lubbock; tow sisters, Mrs. Vella Cannady of
Collinsville and Mrs. J.W. Gentry of Wagoner, Okla.; two granddaughters
and two great-granddaughters.
The family will be at the Richards-Beck Funeral Home Thursday evening
from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Mrs. Myrtle Scoggins of Collinsville Dies
Collinsville - Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday
in Richards-Beck Funeral Chapel here for Mrs. Myrtle Lee Scoggins, 76,
of Collinsville, who died at 7:45 p.m. Monday in a Sherman hospital after
a long illness.
Valen Graham, minister of the Ethel Church of Christ will conduct
the services. Burial will be in Collinsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Socggins was born Sept. 14, 1888, in Cooke County, the daughter
of Rev. and Mrs. J.D. Hart. In Nov. 1908, she married Doyle Scoggins
at Collinsville. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille McWhorter of
Collinsville; a brother, R.C. Hart of Sherman; two sisters, Mrs. F.E. Stone
of Collinsville and Mrs. Jessie Walthall of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
