Lina I. Akridge
Whitewright - Graveside services for Lina Frances Akridge,
104-year-old, Whitewright resident, were held Sunday in Crossroads
Cemetery in Desert, Texas. She died Friday, April 26, 1996, at Whitewright
Nursing Home. Chaplain Cecil Threadgill officiated. Earnheart
Funeral Home in Whitewright had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Akridge
was born on June 17, 1891, in Tennessee, the daughter of Samuel A. Arnwine
and Julia Ann Thompson Arnwine. She married Jodie Akridge on Feb.
11, 1912 in Westminister.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Jo F. Richardson of Dallas;
graddaughter, Connie Tyler of Mexquite; great-grandson, Ryan Tyler of Mesquite;
foster daughter, Jimmie L Robinson of College Station; brother, Nile Arnwine
of Fort Worth; many nieces and nephews.
Jodie P. Akridge
Jodie P. Akridge, 86, died at his home in the Desert community
Jan. 3. Funeral services were held Friday in Earnheart funeral chapel,
conducted by Rev. Doug Ezell and Rev. C. C. Dooley. Burial was in
the Cross Roads Cemetery, Desert.
Born Feb. 8, 1881, at Desert, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Akridge. He married Lina Arnwine Feb. 11, 1912. He was a Presbyterian
and a retired farmer.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Wade Richardson of Dallas;
a foster daughter, Mrs. Jim Robinson of College Station; and one granddaughter.
