swimming pool at Munson Park 1972 located at the east end of Denison, used primarily by African-Americans
Munson Park, North Houston Avenue,
contains a large lake with a bathing beach. Trailers may be parked and fishing
and boating are permitted free, but no actual trailer park is maintained. The
land for Munson Park was given to the city of Denison by J. T Munson and W. B.
Munson. The park was laid out for improvement under Kessler plans and the roads
and lake put in by W. B. Munson.
A
seccond pool was built at Waterloo Park in southwestern Denison, which
was used almost exclusively by the Caucasian population.
