Emma Clara Branch, 89, of Whitesboro,
died April 1, 2001 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Funeral
services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Clement-Keel
Chapel in Gainesville with Reverend Lynn Hitt Houston, Baptist minister,
and Boyd Ray Branch conducting the service. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
The daughter of James Albert and Eula Lee Sumpter Lowe, she was
born November 24, 1911 at Jacksboro, Texas. She married Ira Levi Branch
January 3, 1929.
She was a charter member of Clement Street Missionary Baptist Church
and an accomplished seamstress. She had worked at Westway, and later for
Lorch.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Sue and R.C.
Johnson of Whitesboro; grandson, Monte Johnson of Houston; 4 great-grandchildren;
1 great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews; 5 sisters-in-law
and 1 brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Levi Branch, in 1977.
