Funeral services for Janis DeLu Appleton
Cravens, 72, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010
at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J.
Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Cravens went to be with the Lord Monday,
March 22, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Janis worked for 30 years for Mental Health Mental Retardation in
Gainesville and Sherman. She was active in the Red Hat Society, was a Sunday
School teacher at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, was a former member
and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Gainesville, and enjoyed
playing bridge. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed watching them in their
many activities.
Janis is survived by her husband, Milburn Cravens of Gainesville;
daughter, Gayla Burrage of Marietta, Okla.; sons, Allen Cravens of Gainesville
and Brad Cravens of Gainesville; grandchildren, Stephanie Burrage of Marietta,
Okla., Cody and Kristin Cravens of Sunnyvale, Calif.
Janis was preceded in death by her parents: A.E. and Lou Appleton.
Family visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010
