Mrs. H.L. (Jennie) Crittenden, 85, native of Whitewright, died Wednesday
morning at Waco. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist
Church here at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Rev. dale Gore, pastor.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Denison.
Mrs. Crittenden was born on Dec. 9, 1879, at Whitewright, the daughter
of the late Tom Noe. she married H.L. Crittenden here Oct. 10, 1903,
and they established their home in Denison where she lived until Mr. Crittenden's
death in 1930 when she came back to Whitewright and lived here until she
moved to Waco in 1963. She was an ex-student of Grayson College and
while attending the college she was elected beauty queen. In Denison
she was active in the Little Theatre and in church work. She was
a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, Tom P. Noe of Corpus Christi; a sister,
Miss Maggie Noe of Waco; and several nieces and nephews.
