POTTSBORO - Ruby Charlene Hodge, 78-year-old Pottsboro resident, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at her residence.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17 at Johnson-Moore Chapel with Rev. Sam Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery. 
Mrs. Hodge was born on January 23, 1932 in Pottsoboro, the daughter of Roy D. and Nellie D. Henderson Grooms and attended Denison High School.  She married John Calaway Hodge on April 9, 1949 in Sherman.  She was a housewife and a member of Oakridge Baptist Church. 
Pallbearers will be William Hodge, Travis Hodge, Ricky Penninger, Justin Jacobs, Thomas Redding, John Montoya, Gary Little, and Jason Blankenship.  Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Cain, Terry S. Hodge, Brandin Blevins and Cody Helzl. 
Mrs. Hodge is survived by her husband John Calaway Hodge of Pottsboro; sons, John C. Hodge and wife Janet Walton of Denison, and Terry D. Hodge and wife Freida of Elizabeth, Tenn.; daughters, Brenda Hines and husband John of George West; and Joan Jacobs of Granbury; brother Raymond Grooms and wife Darlene of Denison; sister, Wanda Little and husband Gene of Denison; grandchildren, Shelley Hinnant, Amy Redding, Christy Helcl, Johnette Hodge, Terry S. Hodge, Travis Hodge, Justin Jacobs, Becky Jacobs, Brandon Blevins; great-grandchildren, Rayla Helcl, Cody Helcl, Ryan Redding, Megan Redding, Brendan Strolney, Sierra Jacobs, Haley Hodge and Payetin Hodge.

She never was a stranger to anyone, always caring, thoughtful and giving.  She will be fondly remembered by her many friends and family members.  Ruby enjoyed traveling to various parts of the United States.  Her hobbies included quilt making, bowling, cooking, canning, gardening and listening to church music.  Her greatest enjoyment was playing domino games with her friends and family. 
The family wishes to thank the staff of Home Hospice of Grayson County for their kindness and care. 
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison.

POTTSBORO - John Calaway Hodge, 83-year-old Pottsboro resident, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17 at Johnson-Moore Chapel in Denison with Rev. Sam Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery.
Mr. Hodge was born on March 11, 1928 in the Pink Hill Community, Grayson County, Texas, son of Abner L. and Corty Bell McCartney Hodge. He attended Cherry Mound Schools. He married Ruby Charlene Grooms on April 9, 1949 in Sherman, Texas. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2010.
He was a maintenance technician for Ralston-Purina Mills Company in Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of Oakridge Baptist Church in Denison. Mr. Hodge was never a stranger to anyone, always caring, thoughtful and giving. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends and family members.
John enjoyed traveling to various parts of the United States. His hobbies included bowling, gardening, odd jobs as a handyman and working for other people. His greatest enjoyment was playing domino games with his friends and family and fishing.
Surviving are his sons, John C. Hodge and wife, Janet Walton of Denison, Terry D. Hodge and wife, Freida of Elizabethton, Tennessee; daughters, Brenda Hines and husband, John of George West, Texas and Joann Jacobs of Granbury, Texas; brothers, Bill Hodge and wife, Dean of Powderly, Texas, Lewis Hodge and wife of Oklahoma; sisters, Margaret Butcher of Denison and Faye Garnsey of Atoka, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William Hodge, Travis Hodge, Terry S. Hodge, Ricky Penninger, Justin Jacobs and Thomas Redding Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be John Montoya, Gary Little, Jason Blankenship, Darrell Cain, Brandon Blevins and Cody Helcl.
Visitation will be at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison from 3-4 p.m. Sunday.
