WHITESBORO - Funeral Services for Ada Lorene Bennett, 90,
will be held Thursday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel
in Whitesboro with Jackie Crisp officiating. Interment will follow the
funeral service at the Gordonville Cemetery. Family visitation will take
place on Wednesday, Dec. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. All service
arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home. Lorene Bennett
passed away on Dec. 25, 2010 at Texas Health Presbyterian- WNJ in Sherman.
She was born to Roy and Nettie Ethel (Meek) Renfroe on April 3,
1920 in Gordonville. She married Robert Elliot Bennett on Nov. 7, 1942
in Whitesboro. Lorene was a hard worker who loved to shop. She was of the
Methodist faith and was a member of the Sadler Methodist Church. She collected
crystal and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Whitefield and husband, Ronnie,
of Stephenville; two grandsons, Timothy Whitefield of Arlington, and Matthew
Whitefield and wife, Crystal, of Del Rio; one great-grandson, Cord Ryan
Whitefield; one sister, Ruth McCormick of California; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bennett; parents,
Roy and Nettie Renfroe; a sister, Barbara Steele, and a brother, Kenneth
Renfroe.
Pallbearers will be Billy Bennett, Ronnie Whitefield, Timothy Whitefield,
Matthew Whitefield, Fred Miller, and Steven Steele.
