WHITESBORO - Funeral services for Mary Jane Acker, 90, will
be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel
in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow
at Macomb Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 26
at the home of Bob and Cheryl Acker at 304 Texoma Drive in Whitesboro.
Jane passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical
Center in Sherman.
She was born on Mar. 16, 1919 to Honnie Lee and Nancy Elizabeth
Adcox. Jane attended school in Macomb. She married William Milton Acker
on June 6, 1934 in Whitesboro. Jane worked as a seamstress and later for
the Whitesboro Schools, retiring at the age of 85. She was an 80 year member
of North Hills (formerly Macomb and North Avenue) Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Acker and wife Penny of Whitesboro,
Bob Acker and wife Cheryl of Whitesboro, and Dianne Hughes and husband
Mike of Whitesboro; grandchildren, Deborah Grant of Oxford, Miss., Rhonda
Morris of Brandon, Florida, Todd Acker of Whitesboro, Jami Case of Whitesboro,
Misty Roberts of Collinsville and Micah Hughes of Denton; 11 great-grandchildren;
and four great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Milton Acker Published
in The Herald Democrat on 11/26/2009; and three sisters, Nora Lee Wilkins,
Sydney Kiser, and Elizabeth Whitworth.
Pallbearers are Todd Acker, David Case, Chet Roberts, Micah Hughes,
Bob Pettit and Jackie Crisp.
Honorary Pallbearer is Alton McConnell.
