Funeral services for John Doyle Garland, 96, of Sherman, TX will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Pilot Grove Cemetery. Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. 
He passed away on September 14, 2008 at the Country Club Care Nursing Home in Duncan, OK.
Doyal was born on September 19, 1911 in Pilot Grove, TX the son of John and Edna Wood Garland. He married Jeanie Tate on April 24, 1931 in Durant, OK. Doyal started work in the 1930's at Mrs. Tucker's which later became Anderson Clayton. He retired there in 1976.
Doyal is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ann Rowe and husband Quentin of Duncan, Okla., granddaughter Rena Huppke of Velma, OK, great granddaughter Rebecca Kelley, brother Dwight Garland of Irving, TX, sister Ina Langford of Van Alstyne, TX, sister Frances Bush of Whitewright, TX and brother Bryan Douglas Garland of Sherman, TX. He is also survived by a host of friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and several brothers and sisters. 
Family will receive friends at Waldo Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
