New Pilot Grove Cemetery

Van Alstyne - Services for Birtie Lee Brown, 65, a contractor, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ.  He died suddenly at his home Monday at 9:15 a.m.
Mr. Brown was born in Tennessee Jan. 4, 1906, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Z.B. Brown.  He was a member of the Pilot Grove Church of Christ.
Grady Langford and Jim Tabor, church of Christ ministers, will officiate with burial in Pilot Grove Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home.
Survivors are his wife; four daughters: Mrs. Joyce Hallick of Orange, Clif.; Mrs. Joann Douglas of Gunter; Mrs. Linda Moore of Van Alstyne; and Mrs. Lorene Buchanan of Dallas; one son, Jimmy Lee Brown of Post; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Cordell Brown of Nashville, Tenn.; four sisters: Mrs. Mary Garrett of Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. Sarah Johnson of Brownfield; Mrs. Flossie Tooley of Clovis, N.M.; and Mrs. Mattie Swatzel of Holbrook, Ariz.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
