Ellsworth Mynatt passed from this life February 17, 2007 at
Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends
Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mullican-Little Funeral Home in
Bells, Texas. The funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
at the Bells Church of Christ in Bells, Texas with Charles Wren
officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Bells, TexasWallace
was born near Gunter, Texas, September 9, 1920 to Jessie Herman Mynatt
and Annis Moore Mynatt. Wallace was married to Edith Dotson on May 31,
1942 in Durant, OK. Wallace served in World War II with the U.S. Navy
from August 1942 to November 1945 aboard the naval destroyer USS Case.
Wallace's ship was involved in 8 major WWII sea battles in the Pacific
his WWII service, Wallace attended Abilene Christian College, Abilene,
Texas, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible in 1949.
Wallace served the Lord as a minister in the Church of Christ for over
45 years. He served many Texas churches including Rio Vista, Runge,
Waxahachie, Whitewright, Rocoe, San Benito, Wolfe City and Bells.
Whiles ministering in Bells, Texas, Wallace also served as an elder in
the church there. Wallace also did mission work in the Springfield,
Massachusetts area from 1956 to 1959. During the time Wallace served
the church in (information missing).Wallace
always enjoyed being active in the community where he lived. He was a
member of the Whitewright Rotary Club, Wolfe City Kiwanis Club, a scout
master in Whitewright for several years, president of the Whitewright
PTA and member of the Webb Hill Country Club in Wolfe City.After
Wallace's retirement in 1996, Wallace and Edith continued to live and
worship in Bells, Texas. Wallace and Edith relocated to the Dallas area
in August of 2005.Wallace
is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Edith and son, Wallace
Edward Mynatt of Commerce, Texas and son, Richard H. Mynatt and wife,
Beth, of Garland, Texas. Other family members include three
grandchildren, John Mynatt and wife, Donna, of Grand Prairie, TX, Kelly
Mynatt of Commerce, TX and Jennifer Mynatt Bolin and husband, Jarrod,
of Denton, TX. Wallace is also survived by his sister, Marshall Mynatt
Terry of Dallas, Texas, a sister-in-law, Dollie Dotson Bates of Lompov,
CA and two brothers-in-law, Bennie Dotson of Hillsboro, OH and Tommie
Dotson of Whitewright, Texas. Other loved ones include several nieces,
nephews and cousins.Wallace
was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Mynatt Woodall, and husband
Jake Woodall of Sherman, Texas; his sister Doris Mynatt Kramar and
husband, Dr. Ed Kramar of Monroe, Louisiana; and his brother-in-law,
Clifford Terry of Mesquite, Texas.The
family would like to thank the Department of Veterans Affairs health
professionals in Bonham and Dallas, Texas for the care and support
provided to Wallace over the years.
