Mrs. M. A. Davis (female, white, married) was born on Friday, June
18, in South Carolina, the daughter of E. Baldwin and unknown Harris, borh
natives of South Carolina. Mary died at the age of 58 years, 11
months, and 14 days in Sherman on Thursday, May 4th. She was
under doctor's care from April 26 -
May 3; cause of death was dysurhy (difficulty in urination), complicated
nephrits & heart disease. The informant was N.M. Davis.
The body was removed to Van Alstyne Cemetery for burial on Thursday, May
4th.

Van Alstyne Funeral Set for N.M. Davis
Van Alstyne, Texas, Oct. 23 (AP) - Funeral services will be held
here Sunday for N.M. Davis, 99, Civil War Veteran and pioneer resident
of Grayson County, who died in a Waco hospital Friday after an illness
of four years.
A native of North Carolina, Davis joined the Confederate Army in
1861. He fought in the Battle of Gettysburg. For two years of the
war he was a Yankee prisoner.
He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for sixty-eight years.
