Elsie M. Stinnett
Van Alstyne - Services for Elsie M. Stinnett, 93, of Denton and
formerly of Denison, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Morning Chapel CME
Church in Van Alstyne with Barbara Ford officiating. Mrs. Stinnett
died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Denton.
Burial will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Surviving are sons, John Stinnett and Irwin Stinnett, both of Denton;
daughters, Anner Herod of Denton and Bertha Webb of Aurora, Colo.; 13 grandchildren,
18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
People Funeral Home in Denton has charge of arrangements.
Family visitation will be at Morning Chapel CME at 12 noon Friday.

Services for John J. Stinnett, 64, a security guard who died Tuesday
at his residence in Van Alstyne, will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, at the
Morning Chapel of The C.M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. T.G. Kirkpatrick,
pastor.
Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery, with Everett Funeral Home
directing.
Mr. Stinnett was born in Grayson County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe
Stinnett. He married Elsie Stinnett Dec. 1, 1930, in Colbert, Okla.
He was a member of the East Valley Lodge No.160 F. & A.M. and
chairman of the steward board of the Morning Chapel of the C.M.E. Church.
Surviving are his widow; sons, John Stinnett, Jr. of Japan, and
Irwin Stinnett of Van Alstyne; daughters, Mrs. Anna J. Herod of Denton
and Mrs. Bertha Webb of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and sister,
Mrs. Myrtle Thomas of Denver, Colo.
