Rayfield Tate
Services for Rayfield Tate, 59, of Van Alstyne who died Monday at
a Bonham veteran's hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Eastside
Church of Christ in Van Alstyne conducted by Melvin Schappell.
Burial will be at the Van Alstyne Cemetery directed by Smith Memorial
Chapel of Denison.
Mr. Tate was born in Colbert, Okla., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lucious
Tate, attended Van Alstyne schools, and was married to Mary McKinney on
May 3, 1943, in Van Alstyne. He was a member of the Eastside Church
of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran, and was an assistant lab technician at
the Bonham Veteran's Administration Hospital.
Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mrs. Ann Orr of Grapevine, Mrs.
Dale Taylor of Celeste and Miss Dorothy Tate of Van Alstyne; brothers,
Homer Tate of Omaha, Neb., Marshall Tate of Forth Worth, Ernest and Recice
Tate, both of Oklahoma City; and Randal Tate of Tulsa; sisters, Mrs. Alberta
McKinney and Mrs. Althea Storey, both of Denison, Mrs. Olivia Tate of Omaha
and Mrs. Liza Tate of Frederick, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers are nephews.
The family will be at the home in Van Alstyne.
