Van Alstyne, Tex., March 24.--Mrs. Belle PORTMAN died at her home, seven miles south of here, to-day at 10 o'clock of consumption. She lost her speech and could not talk for three days before her death. She was a devout Christian lady and dearly loved by all who knew her.
