Geo. A. Skipworth Laid To Rest Here Saturday
Funeral services for George Ambrose Skipworth were held last Saturday
afternoon at 2:30 in the First Baptist Church of Tom Bean, conducted by
the pastor, Rev. Bob Searborough. Grandsons were pallbearers. Mr. Skipworth
passed away last Thursday at 5:15 at his home in Tom Bean at the age of
91. He has 102 direct descendants. Interment was in the Van Alstyne City
Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife; 10 sons, John and Ed Skipworth of Van Alstyne,
Cliff Skipworth of California, Bill Skipworth of Bells. Hoyt and Tom Skipworth
of Whitewright, Jack and Leslie Skipworth of Tom Bean, Weldon Skipworth
of Plainview and Doyle Skipworth of Sanger; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Morrow
of Raymondville; 41 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.
