Services for Mrs. Myrtle Gean Tillett, 89-year-old housewife of Van
Alstyne, who died Saturday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital, were held Tuesday
at 2 p.m. at Flescher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne.
The Rev. Jim Poole and Norman Ewell officiated and burial was in
Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs. Tillett was born in Westminster, Texas, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Marion F. Gear. She married Clarence Tillett in Westminster,
October 1916. She was a member of the Elmont Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Clarence Tillett Jr. of Whitewright,
Billy Tillett, Rob Tillett and James Tillett, all of Van Alstyne; Wayne
Tillett of Fort Worth and Jerry Tillett of Caddo Mills; daughters, Pauline
Gentry and Jenny Wise, both of Van Alstyne, Juanita Boatwright of Sherman,
and Jo Ann Marr of Whitesboro; brother, Clifford Gear of Fort Worth; sisters,
Leona Stroud of Anaheim, Calif., and Irene Griglione of Gunter; 40 grandchildren,
67 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
