Graveside service for Helen Stinnett Braswell, 89, of McKinney
are set for 3 p.m. today at Van Alstyne Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Buster
officiating. Braswell died Saturday at Columbia Medical Center in McKinney. She was born Jan. 20, 1908 in McKinney to Guy V. Stinnett and Winnie
McKinney. She married Merit Braswell. Braswell retired from Sears as a credit manager. She was a
member of the John Abston Chapter-McKinney of the Daughters of the American
Revolution and the Collin McKinney Chapter in Plano of the Daughters of
the Republic of Texas. She also was a member of the First Christians
Church of Anna. Braswell was the closest next-of-kin to Collin McKinney, after whom
the county and the city were named. Survivors include two nieces, Sherry Hardin of Richardson and Lisa
Frazier of McKinney; two nephews, Randy Stinnett of Plano and Jack Stinnett
of Allen; six great nieces and nephews and several other relatives
