Funeral services for Rayford Gaskill, a retired REA
lineman, were held Wednesday at the Flesher Funeral Home. Rev. Scott
Jordan officiated.
Gaskill was born May 30, 1918 in Texas to Enack and
Ida Gaskill. He married Billie Ruth Skipworth on March 18, 1944 in
Sherman.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn Ray Gaskill;
two grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Verna Carney of Van Alstyne, Jean
Raifsnider of Plano, Lay Burgess of Lake Whiteney, Mary Layce Williams
of Princeton and Lorraine Skula of Irving; and four borthers, Marcil Gaskill
of McKinney, Carl Gaskill of Van Alstyne, T.E. Gaskill of Houston, and
W.L. Gaskill of Cascade, California.
Pallbearers were C.J. Bledsoe, Cecil Smith, Joe Eatherly,
Charlie Bell, Robert Veazey, Carl Vawter, Bob Cavender and Charlie Fry.
INFANT SON OF MR. and MRS. Ray GASKILL IS LAID TO
REST
Paul Dale, 2-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Gaskill,
passed away in the Wilson N. Jones Hospital Saturday. Graveside services
were conducted by Rev. J.O. Duckworth Sunday afternoon, Oct. 1 at three
o'clock, in the city cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one
brother, Glenn Ray; by his grandmother, Mrs. T.E. Gaskill, and his grandfather,
Ed Skipworth, all of Van Alstyne.
