Mrs. Leah Strickland Passes After Attack
Mrs. Leah Strickland, 75, suffered a heart
attack in her yard Monday evening and was rushed to the Wilson N. Jones
Hospital in Sherman where she expired Tuesday afternoon at 3:40.
Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church
Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. O.
Duckworth, with interment following in the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Strickland was born on Nov. 30, 1881, in this
state. She was the widow of the late G. D. Strickland, and was a member
of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. F. Caraway
of Texarkana, and Mrs. Pascal Mullenix of Fort Worth; by three sons, John
F. Strickland of Irving, Jack Strickland of Dallas, and Bob Strickland
of Van Alstyne; by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; by one
sister, Mrs. Henry Taylor and one brother, C. M. Yeury, both of Howe.
