Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Baker, 89, of Colber, Okla.,
who died Monday, Oct. 6, in the Madonna Hospital, Denison, were held at
the Church of Christ in Colbert Wednesday at 2 p.m. and burial was in Van
Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home of Durant,
Okla.
Mrs. Baker was born near Van Alstyne Aug. 30, 1880, the daughter
of the late T.P. and Mattie Dixon. She was a longtime member of the
Christian Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Opal Nix and Mrs. Juanita Weger
of Colbert; three sons, W.Y. Baker of Colbert, Boone Baker of Cartwright,
Okla. and Otis Baker of Antlers, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Miller
of Melissa, Mrs. Minnie Gleaves of Van Alstyne; and one brother, Fred Dixon
of Sherman; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
