VAN ALSTYNE - Services for Mrs. Lena Kate Strickland, 87, retired Van Alstyne clerk who died Friday at a nursing home here, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flesher Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Kincaid, Methodist minister, and the Rev. Donald Griffith, First Christian minister. Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Born in Mississippi, Mrs. Strickland was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Neill and married Si Strickland in Feb. 1941. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son, Neill Goss of Dallas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Floyd Carter, Doyle Chrisman, Bryan Salmon, R.E. Neill, Jess Ashley and Joe Baker.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
