Van Alstyne - Funeral services for J.A. Van Deren, 78, were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Van Deren Funeral Home, with burial in Van Alstyne cemetery by the grave of his wife, who died 12 years ago.  Pallbearers were Roscoe Garver, Graley Edwards, Zac Emerson, Van Alstyne; John Clack, Anna; O.V. Estes and Beacher Powell, Sherman.
Those attending the services from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Weihs, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Agnew, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wooten, Misses Lucile Webb, Beatrice Beasley, Elsie Allen, Margrette Bloxom, Lavern Trail, Ollie Miller, Mae Van Deren, Ruth Wooten, Mrs. Eunice Bowen, Geneive Estes, Hershal Medford, Paul Cotton, Roy Trail, J.H. Vandergrift, John Agnew, Bertha Clinton, Tom Smithson, Gles Estes, John Smithson, Leslie Smithson, Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Ridge, Harold Belden, O.V. Estes, Beacher Powell, J.H. Sledge, Calvin Lewis, Miss Paula Butler and others from Sherman; John Clack, Elmer Johnson, Mrs. Mollie Johnson, Johnnie Christian, Anna; J.H. Gibson, Howe; Mr. and Mrs. G.W.
