Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne for Ethrie Lee Stephens, 68, who died Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in a Sherman hospital.  He was born in Texas Dec. 6, 1900, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stephens.  Mr. Stephens was a retired farmer.
Bro. Gary Coleman and Bro. Bill McNatt officiated with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Bette Mullenix, Garland; two sons, W.J. Stephens, Garland, and D.W. Stephens, Mesquite; five grandchildren; one brother, P.E. Stephens, Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Miller, Van Alstyne; his mother, Mrs. Alice Stephens, Van Alstyne.
