JOY MURL BROWN
Van Alstyne - Joy Murl Brown, 69-year-old Van Alstyne resident, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at North Central Medical Center in McKinney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne with Clell Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born on September 23, 1933, at Anna, Texas, daughter of William Morgan Thacker and Mossie Wilder.  On October 10, 1950, she married M.L. "Wimpy" Brown in Durant, Okla.
Surviving are her husband, M.L. "Wimpy" Brown of Van Alstyne; one daughter, Tammie Anderson and husband, Steven of Farmersville; two sons, Rickey Brown and wife, Valerie, of Van Alstyne and Ronnie Brown and wife, Nadine, of Weston, Texas; nine grandchildren: Vance Anderson, Rhondie Anderson, Mitch Anderson, Rickey Don and Suzanne Brown, Tina Brown, Brandy Brown, D'Ron Brown, Alexia Armstrong and Aaron Armstrong; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Zelda Ellis of van Alstyne, Wanda Parks of Dallas and Cora Faye Cook of Gordonville; and one brother, Choice Thacker of Celeste.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18
