Joe Cleo Hendricks

Garland, TX - Joe Cleo Hendricks, an 88 year old resident of Garland, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at his residence.  He was born April 25, 1920 in Sedalia, TX, son of James Larkin Hendricks and Myrtle Burkhead Hendricks.  He married Sally Phillips July 27, 1938 in Dallas, TX.  They have been married for seventy years.  Mr. Hendricks has been in the Jewelry business for many years.  He was a long time member of the Van Alstyne Masonic Lodge.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home.  Chaplin Charlie Holt will officiate.  The family will gather at the funeral home in Van Alstyne for visitation at 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service. - - - - Flesher Funeral Home

Mom has gone to the arms of God and to her beloved Joe in Heaven.  Sally Hendricks, age 88 of Garland, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at her residence in Garland.  She was born October 11, 1920 in Sedalia, Texas, daughter of Robert Dudley Phillips and Lola Creswell Phillips.  She married her beloved Joe Hendricks July 27, 1938 in Dallas.  She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Hendricks of Garland; one son, James Hendricks of Garland; two granddaughters, Lauren Fornal and husband Michael of Dallas; Natalie Pitt and husband Ty of Aubrey; three sisters, Lavell Adams of Van Alstyne; Genita Harden of Royce City; Billie Biggerstaff of Van Alstyne; and two brothers, Tony Phillips of Sherman; David Phillips of Denison.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home. Chaplin Charles Holt will officiate.  The family will receive visitors on Friday at 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
