MRS. HELEN SPROWL DIES SUNDAY; SERVICES TUESDAY
Funeral services were held at First Methodist Church Tuesday for
Mrs. Helen Sprowl, 45, who died in a Sherman hospital Sunday afternoon
after a long illness. Rev. Norman Bouffard and Rev. T.J. Graves of Sherman
officiated at final rites at 2:00 p.m. Interment was in Van Alstyne
Cemetery under direction of Flesher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sprowl was born at Van Alstyne, April 14, 1921, and was the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Shaw. She was married to Windle Sprowl
Dec. 2, 1944 at Temple. She was a member of the First Methodist Church
in Howe where she taught the college age Sunday School Class and participated
in the Wesleyan Service Guild. She was active in the Howe School Parent
Teachers Association and was a substitute postal clerk.
Mrs. Sprowl is survived by her husband and a daughter, Mary Helen
Sprowl of Howe; her mother, Mrs. Fannie Shaw, and a brother, J.T. Shaw
of Van Alstyne.
The family will be at the Flesher Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m.
Monday.
