Taylor, 38, who was killed in Phoenix, Ariz. last Saturday, were held at the First Baptist church, Friday morning with the Rev. James L. Cooper, pastor officiating. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
The son of the late Rufus Taylor and Mrs. Nellie Taylor Davis, Leonard, he was born Dec 21, 1922 in Whitewright. He made his home here until six years ago when he moved to Arizona.
Survivors in clude his wife, Mrs. Effie Taylor, Sherman, two sons, J. W. and Clyde Paul taylor, Sherman, a daughter, Mrs. C.B. Francis, Idaho, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joe Baily Jones, Jr. , Whitewright; a stepson, Clarence Bonds, Whitewright; three sisters, Mrs. James W. Davis, Whitewright; Mrs. L.M. Todd, Leonard, and Mrs. Walter Karr, Dallas; three brothers, Edgar Taylor, Whitewright, Ervin Taylor, Ector and John Rufus Taylor, Dallas. 

I looked up his death cert. in  Arizona- He lived at 1301 E. Gibson St in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Ariz. and died at 2206 S. 14th St. of  gunshots , fired by Clifton E. Shockley. He had lived in Phoenix for 8 yrs. He was killed "at work", ruled homicide.
He was a carpenter.
