TOM BEAN FUNERAL SET FOR DALLASITE
Funeral services will be held at the Tom Bean (Grayson County) Baptist
Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday for J.D. Welch, 44, of Dallas, who was killed
late Monday in a gin accident at Crockett.
Welch, who was reared at Tom Bean, was a veteran employee of a Dallas
gin company. He had directed the construction of a gin for owners
of a plantation at Crockett and there to supervise its operation.
He had been a member of the Baptist church twenty-five years.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. E.P. Welch of Tom Bean; a daughter,
Mrs. John Massingale, of Sherman; a son, J.D. Welch Jr., of Dallas; a brother,
Bill Welch, of Gainesville and three sisters, Mrs. C.S. Teague, Mrs. Joe
Vivion and Mrs. Robert Caraway of Tom Bean.
