BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES
Bruce, W. E. - Earl- was born in Dallas, Texas, August 22 1892.  He has been actively engaged in the grocery business, and now assists his mother in operating the business left by the death of his father last May.  Before becoming actively engaged in the grocery store, Mr. Bruce was traveling for the Cities Service Oil Corp., for a number of years.  After this he was employed by the city of Brady as superintendent of the city water works and electric department.  He held this capacity for about two years.  A number of years ago Mr. Bruce owned and operated the Collinsville power and light company.  Mr. Bruce married a local girl, Miss Elsa Hufford, daughter of Smith and Ruth Hufford.  Mrs. Bruce was the manager of the picture show here and in Whitesboro for a number of years.  She now assists her husband in the grocery store.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES
Bruce, W. L. "Cub" was long prominent in the business life of Collinsville.  When first coming to this community Mr. Bruce bought cotton in connection with his mercantile business.  He later qui the grocery business and bought cotton for a number of years.  After his death in 1931, Mrs. Evidue Gray Bruce took charge of the grocery store.  Mrs. Bruce was born in Nashville, Tenn. Nov. 30, 1871.  She lived in Tennessee until about seven years old when her parents moved to Paris, Texas.  She resided there for a number of years, and there married Mr. Bruce in 1891.  They moved to Dallas and resided there about six years, where their son, Earl was born.  When first coming to this community, Mrs. Bruce became associated with her husband in his business and operated a millenary department for a number of years.  This family has been active in the Methodist church. (d. 1963)
