Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Barrett Chapel, Sherman, for Mrs. Avvie Downing, 81, who died Saturday evening at her home here.
Burial will be in Cedar Cemetery.
Mrs. Downing was born in Greenbrier, Ark. She came to Texas in 1901. She was married to George H. Downing 64 years ago. Mrs. Downing was a member of the Key Memorial Methodist Church.
She  is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R.L. Smith of Sherman; one son, J.Bennett Downing of San Angelo; one brother, T.R. Ball of Conway, Ark; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren."
