The Bigbee Family Cemetery is inside
the Dripping Springs Landfill
(It hasn't been used as a trash dump
since 8 Oct 1993, but is kept locked and methane gas is measured). The
cemeteries on this property were not touched by the landfill operations.

It is located South East of Denison.
All of this family used several spellings
of the name- such as Bigbee & Bigby
This Cemetery is near the Odell
Cemetery, Mary Bigby was Mary Odell,
Mary's parents were Enoch & Eliza
Break Odell. They are buried in the Odell Cemetery. Henry Bigbee &
Mary wed in Grayson Co. 3 Jan 1870. They had been neighbors.
I do not know of any other Bigbee children
except Henry & Mary also had a daughter named Pearl b. 1878, Mr. Pylant
has written about her on the page below this census of the cemetery.

There are only two Tombstones left in
C. Bigbee, died Apr. 1, 1881 aged 36 years (He was born in Tennessee.
His father was J. S. Bigby)
headstone is shared with
E.Bigbee, son of H.C. and Mary E. Bigbee, died Aug 26, 1889 aged
inscription on the side reads: Sleep on father and son, Thy work
is done. Jesus has come and borne thee home.
The other headstone has three inscriptions-
Children of Henry C. & Mary E.
O'Dell Bigbee (More about her at the bottom of this page):
E. Bigbee, died Sep 18, 1878 aged 3 years, child of H.C. and Mary
H.Bigbee died July 1, 1881, aged 1
yr. 9 mos. and
Bigbee, born and died July 1874

Note about Mary E. O'Dell Bigbee,
from Ted Pylant:
Mary E. O'dell, after husband Henry
C. Bigbee's death, married Joseph Davy Hassell and had 5 children with
him. Joseph died before 1900 - Mary was listed as a widow in the 1900 census
of Childress, Childress Co., Texas. Pearl, daughter of Henry C. Bigbee
and Mary E. O'Dell, was adopted by Mary's 2nd husband, Joseph Davy Hassell.
She married Lemuel J. Sexton and died 5 Dec 1938 in Pampa, Gray Co., TX.
