Blassingame Cemetery

Census & Photographs by Dusty Williams

Charlotte Holder reported this cemetery to me a few years ago. She was investigating it about 1990 and was told it was a destroyed cemetery and was plowed up by a farmer.
However Dusty Williams investigated the cemetery in Feb. 2009 and found it though it is very very damaged and not much left of the old parts, it is now being used again. He found the stones of :

Etta Matthews  1900 - 1994

Cynthia Armstrong, wife of Dr. J. R. Armstrong  March 26, 1804 --- October 13, 1877

Unknown Markers

More burials are listed below.

The cemetery is fenced in :

I (Elaine Nall Bay) have some addional information that the persons below are buried there and are now either unmarked or damaged stones;
Dr. William Blassingame ,born 13 Jan 1836 Greenville, SC - died around 1912 and is buried in the Blassingame Cemetery. Dr. Wm. Blassingame was the son of William & Mary Pearl Price Blassingame.
I think his Wife Cynthia Etta Armstrong is buried there too (dau. of Dr. J.R. & Cynthia Armstong).
Also known buried here; William Earl Blassingame, their son who died abt 1894.
