There are supposed
to be some Leach family members, all children buried nearby.
1860 Census shows the family:
M.A. McBride male white age 40 b. Ireland. head of household in Grayson Co.
wife was Martha A. b. in SC age 35
Children listed in 1860 were
Frances A. female age 10 b. La.
M.A. male age 7, (The birthplace looks like Ten. but probably is Tex.)
John A. male age 3 same birthplace written as the child above.
On the 1860 Mortality Census for Grayson County I find this child dead.
McBride, J. 3 months, female .....b.Tx Fever
M.A. McBride was the postmaster of Cedarfield, which was in that west central part of Grayson County, He was recorded as such on 26 Jun 1868.
I suspect he built the monument before they left for Victoria Co.
I have not found them yet in a 1870 record
But I think this is the couple in Victoria County.
By 1880 The family is in Victoria County, Texas
Michael McBride is 60 b. Ire
his wife Martha A. is listed as 55 b. SC
and they have late life daughter age 4 with a father b. Ire. and mo b. SC , her name is Belle, born in Texas.
