'This cemetery is located in Sherman, about 3 miles west of highway 1417
on State Highway 82. Turn north on Bar Seven Drive, a gravel road,
and go across two cattle guards. The chain link fenced cemetery is
on the left. Few markers are legible and about 30 markers are simply
square stones sticking out of the soil with no markings. '

In 2005 This description was given by Jerry Sipes after
visiting the Cemetery years ago." We were told ....vandals had broken
all the stones and there wasn't much there anymore. He was right.
There was only one stone standing and the grass was knee deep we couldn't
see the ground. We had to enter by going under a barbed wire fence. "
We are so thankful that a cleanup has been
made and more stones located!

Crow Family Information
John Van Buren Crow, born 2 Feb 1835
in Georgia, probably in Murray County in the part that became Crow Valley,
Whitfield County, Georgia, in 1853. His parents were Thomas Crow (1800
SC -1884 GA) & Mary "Polly" Cox (1804-1876) both buried at Poplar Spring
Baptist Church Cemetery, Crow Valley, Whitfield County, Georgia. John Van
Buren Crow died sometime after the 1900 Grayson County, Texas, census,
but probably before 1910, I don't know the exact date of death. He
married Josephine Kirby in 1855 in DeKalb County, Alabama.
Josephine Kirby Crow, wife of John Van
Buren Crow, was born between 1839 & 1842 in Tennessee. She died
in 1892 in Grayson County, Texas.
Not sure who Mary C. Crow was that is
buried there at Offutt.
One of John V. B. and Josephine Kirby
Crow's sons, Samuel Lewis Crow, is buried at Enterprise Cemetery, Grayson
My relationship to these Crows is though
a perfect DNA match with the living male descendant of the family, so I
do not know exactly how I am related to them, yet.
