Alkire Cemetery ~aka ~ Sand Pit Cemetery
('Alcarr' Cemetery sometimes used -it is a misspelling of this cemetery name)
This cemetery appears to have been right near a church, but I cannot identify the church as yet. Likely
it was named another name if it was in conjunction with a church property.

Map
New Information about this cemetery. This cemetery is located under and around
a trailer at 129 Harvey Lane, sometime in the recent past ( since 1996) the stones were moved and
a trailer moved onto the property. This trailer is located right on top of the cemetery.

This cemetery is supposed to be fairly spread out and I am finding new families involved as I research it.
It probably was started by the Alkire family and is on their farm boundaries;
but the names are also from neighbors surrounding them. I cannot find that they are kin to one another.
As a result it likely developed into a community cemetery , created around the 1860's and going to 1900.

Possible burials are marked in green and
