Shires Cemetery

Photographs  & Census by Dusty Williams

Map
There is only one readable stone in Shires Cemetery.
I found a cemetery on the 1907 plat map for Grayson County and I believe it is this one. I am leaning towards the possibility that this cemetery was moved for the construction of Lake Texoma judging by the location in 1907 and the location now, in 2007.
The cemetery is located just off of Old Sadler Road on the North side of where the road is out. Coming from the north and heading south you will cross a cement bridge. Keep going until you get to the second cement bridge. The Cemetery is located on the East side of the road 1 to 2 blocks.
There are several old sandstones in this cemetery and several unmarked graves.
