Grayson County Man Found Dead on Farm
Sherman, Texas, Nov. 15- Lemuel Cowen, 56, was found dead by his wife near a small barn o100 yards west of his farm home in the Basin Springs Community, North-west of Sherman.
Jusctice of the Peace, C.L. Simpson of Whitesboro returned a verdict of suicide, saying there was a bullet wound in his head, acid burns around his mouth and a rifle and a drinking glass near by. He was believed to have been dead three or four hours.
Surviving besides his wife, are three sons, M.C. Cowan of Galveston, James Cowan of Burkburnett and Gene Cowan , at home; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Richardson of Pauls Valley, Okla.; Mrs. Icie Dutton of Sherman and Mrs. Mollie Thompson of Sadler; a half sister, Mrs. R. C. Kirk of Sadler; five brothers, Pitt Cowan of Littlefield, Louis Cowan of Waco, S.C. Cowan of Sadler, W.R. Cowan of Sadler, and O.Cowan at home.
