Daniel Family

Robert Daniel Civil war era papers   He died in 1884 and in buried in the Brogdon Cemetary, northwest of Pottsboro, very near famous Spout Springs where the outlaws liked to cross the river and hide out at the Springs and hill above it (it as a good lookout).  Here is a picture of his grave stone, but it is a little hard to read because it's so dark in there, the trees have overgrown the cemetery.

His Amnesty papers which forgave him for serving in the Confederate army where he pledged allegience to the Union.   He joined in Missouri.  He lived in Grayson County, northwest of Pottsboro where he grew peaches commercially amoung other things; he owned a lot of land here.
