Unable to adequately provide for his newborn son (there were seven other small children that required his attention) Gus asked his brother-in-law Claude Feagan and his wife Della Oliver Feagan to "look after" Robert.
Robert was raised in Claude and Della's household under the name of Robert Feagan.
Claude (Claudius) Gamalie Feagan and his sister  Atoka (Tokie) Myrtle Feagans were two of the children of  Daniel Feagans and Mary Ann Blanton.  They were the grandchildren of Stephen Fletcher Blanton and Sarah McDaniel. )
