ELBERT HAMILTON
Funeral services for Elbert
Hamilton, 55, WW veteran who died Thursday at his home, 4121 Parrish Road,
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Church of Christ.
J. Willard Morrow, minister,
will officiate and burial will be in Garden of Memories Memorial Park (sic
Mount Olivet).
At the time of his death,
Mrs. Hamilton was enroute home from New Mexico, where she had attended
funeral services for her brother.
Other survivors are a
daughter, Mrs. Harrell Anderson, Fort Worth; a granddaughter, two brothers,
Charles Hamilton, Weatherford, and Robert Hamilton, Abilene and a sister,
Mrs. May Humphrey, Abilene.
(researcher's note: In this obit, Elbert's
first born daughter, Lawana Juanita, was not mentioned. Lawana Juanita's
mother, Gertrude Womack, Elbert's first wife.Following their divorce both
Elbert and Gertrude remarried. After her parents divorce, Lawana Juanita
grew up in the household of her mother and step-father. She chose
to use McAnich as her surname. McAninch was the surname of her step-father,
George Edward McAninch. Gertrude Womack, born in Fannin Co., TX, was the
daughter of Fannin Co., TX pioneers Stephen Fletcher Womack and Sarah McDaniel.)
